I had never experienced or drawn a desert sunset (nor sunrise for that matter.) That day I had been out sketching - using pastels -as these gave me the speed I needed to execute a number of the different landscapes and the movement of the sun Such a range of colors that were revealed on the variety of sage bush / scrubs and hills as the day’s sun rays passed over these.
